How to Use Google Lens on iPhone

Google Lens is an image recognition tool that uses visual analysis powered by a neural network to identify things and display relevant information. It is available for Android users, but with a few tweaks, you can also use it on Apple iPhones.

How to Use Google Lens on iPhone

On Android, we have a dedicated app for Google Lens, but on iPhone, we don’t have an app. To use Google Lens features, we need to install some Google applications on your iPhone. 

Firstly, let us discuss how to use it on iPhone Photos you’ve already taken. To do so, follow the following steps:

Step 1: First, download and install the Google Photos app on your iPhone.

Step 2: Open the Google Photos app. When you open the app for the first time, the app will ask for your permission to permit Google Photos to access your photos; tap on “Allow Access to All Photos.” After that, all the photos on your iPhone will automatically appear in Google Photos.

Note:- The Google Photos and Lens feature will not work until you grant permission to access your photo library.

Step 3: Now, to use the Google Lens feature, open an image. Then tap the Google Lens icon; located at the bottom of the screen. After that, a description of the item, similar photos, and other information will appear. For more information, use the slider.

How to Use Google Lens With Your iPhone Camera

You can also use Google Lens with the camera on your iPhone to scan objects in the real world and instantly receive information on whatever you are looking at in real-time.

For that, follow the following steps:

Step 1: To do so, download and install the Google app from the app store on your iPhone.

Step 2: Open the Google app and click on the “Google Lens” icon on the search bar beside the microphone. After that, tap on the “Search with your camera” icon.

Step 3: Google will ask for iPhone camera permission. Here, tap “Enable Camera” and tap on “OK“. After that, click on the “Search” icon to get the information about the object in real-time.


That’s it; this is how you can use Google Lens on iPhone with the Camera app. Note that all the search history, including Google Lens search results, is stored in your Google account. You can delete your history; from your My Activity page.
